On June 16, 2023, the "Together for the Future" Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone Biomedical Industry Development Forum, hosted by Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Health Yangtze River Delta Research Institute, and organized by Suzhou XinBio Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as XinBio), was successfully held at the Qinghe Chuangke and Wujiang Hotel.
The Biomedical Industry Development Forum this time focuse on the development of China's CGT industry. Industry leaders from advanced research institutes, clinical institutions, and leading enterprises were invited to participate in the summit, jointly discussing the future trends and important opportunities of the CGT industry, sharing experiences in transforming CGT achievements and expanding the industry scale. The number of attendees reached more than 100.
Shen Jianxing, Deputy Director of the Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, Zhang Lufa, Executive Dean of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Health Yangtze River Delta Research Institute, Wu Zhenyu, President of the Wujiang District Young Businessman Commerce and Chairman of Jiangsu Qinghe Group, Zong Hongliang, CMC Vice President of Neukio Biotherapeutics, and Meng Ruifeng, Co founder and CEO of XinBio, attended the event.
Shen Jianxing, Deputy Director of the Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, delivered the opening speech for this forum. He said that Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone has gathered more than 3000 domestic and foreign enterprises and cultivated 9 listed companies through years of investment promotion and talent attraction. Qinghe Chuangke is one of the cradles established by Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone for incubating private science and technology innovation enterprises. Since its establishment in 2021, it has successfully attracted more than 20 enterprises, among which XinBio is a representative. It is pleased to see XinBio taking root and thriving in Wujiang, while also empowering the Wujiang CGT industry by providing automation, customization, integration, and localization solutions for the CGT industry with high-quality and affordable products.
Zhang Lufa, Executive Dean of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Health Yangtze River Delta Research Institute, delivered a speech at the forum. He stated that XinBio is the first industrial incubation project of the Yangtze River Delta Research Institute, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Institute in 2019. CGT, as a game changing medical tool, is a major task that must be completed in the national strategies of "Healthy China" and "Yangtze River Delta Integration" to achieve localization. In the future, we will continue to fully cooperate with government, enterprises, and universities, and work together with many enterprises such as XinBio to shoulder the responsibility of promoting the development of CGT industry, establishing a foothold in the Yangtze River Delta, radiating throughout the country, and safeguarding people's health.
Wu Zhenyu, President of Wujiang District Young Businessman Commerce, delivered a speech at the forum. He recalled detailed memory about XinBio when it first came to Wujiang to seek investment. He said that he was infected by the entrepreneurial enthusiasm and firm determination of the main creative team of XinBio at that time. From it, he saw that XinBio would change the industry ecology in the future, reduce people's drug costs with localization substitution, and let CGT be able to enter into millions of households. Therefore, he joyfully became an angel round investor of XinBio. He stated that Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone is an ideal environment for entrepreneurship, as it is pro business, protect business, and care for business. He looked forward to more like-minded people coming together to contribute to the economic development of Wujiang and the national health cause.
Meng Ruifeng, co-founder and CEO of XinBio, delivered a speech at the forum. He stated that it's the time to develop China's CGT industry, especially to address the current situation where equipment, reagents, and consumables related to upstream and downstream processes are being held back by foreign companies. This cannot be achieved without the scientific research efforts of CGT practitioners. Through the localization transformation of the upstream and downstream of the cell therapy industry chain, production costs can be controlled, more enterprises can be empowered, more patients can be served, and a virtuous cycle can be formed. XinBio cannot do without the government's attention and the support of investors along the way. XinBio hopes and has confidence to become a leader in CGT localization with the help of regional governments and partners in such a context.
At the forum, XinBio also signed strategic cooperation agreements with Fangdemenda, Mona Biotechnology, and Chongqing Zeheng Biotechnology.
The second half was hosted by Professor Jiang Deke from Southern Hospital affiliated with Southern Medical University. Ma Jun, Director of Harbin Institute of Hematology, Tang Wenjie, Researcher at Shanghai Oriental Hospital Translational Medicine Center, Zong Hongliang, CMC Vice President of Neukio Biotherapeutic, and Yan Dongping, Chairman of Mona Biotech, delivered keynote speeches which were full of practical content and sincere.
The roundtable forum was hosted by Hong Yang, founder of Zhiyin Pharmaceutical. Chen Liang from Jiangsu Provincial Productivity Promotion Center, Chen Yun, partner of Shanghai Relay Fund, Fang Lei, vice president of Lepu Biology, Li Zhen, founder of Jingyuan Biology, Chi Shen, CTO of XinBio, Li Liang, CEO of Rundong Pharmaceutical Business Development, and Zhao Jiaji, vice president of Shanghai Weizhou Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. (VCRO), were specially invited as guests to discuss the topic of "What are the challenges in the development of the biopharmaceutical industry? How to deal with them?" The atmosphere was lively and golden sentences were frequently stated, which made the participants think and gain something.
